People ask me daily, how I accomplished this?
At age forty, and the mother of six children, I found it
harder and harder to maintain my weight while managing a
large family, working 55 hours a week in a high
demanding job, presiding as president of a community
pool and providing daycare at my church. I hired
trainers, joined gyms, gave up carbs (which left me
sluggish and grumpy,) and I read weight-loss books. I
even purchased every supplement that promised
weight-loss, but nothing seemed to work for me.
One day while searching the web I came
across Jay Robb's website.
I ordered and read his book,
The Fat Burning
Diet and I liked the concept of not having to totally
give up carbs. His
Fat Burning Diet Cookbook turned me
on to foods like
Stevia, that I had never tried before
but found easily fit into my diet and budget. Most
importantly, the teaching in his books allowed me to eat
the things I loved but thought I could not have, like
cheese ground sirloin, potatoes, bananas etc-and I
really looked forward to the one hour a week where I
could eat anything I wanted and still stay on the Fat
Burning Diet plan. Jay Robb's book also prompted me to
check my pH levels and educated me about
pH test strips.
I learned that stress and poor diet could cause my body
to be acidic which is easily detected with the pH
strips. I now try to maintain an alkaline state by
eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. I also became a
big fan of Jay Robb products like the
Cashew Coconut
JayBars for a quick on-the-run breakfast-and I
devour the
Pina Colada,
and
Tropical
Dreamsicle
protein drinks after my workouts. I add the
YAMMIT!
Energy Nuggets to my
Vanilla protein shakes on carb-loading
days. I have incorporated exercise into my life and lift
weights and bike ride at least 30 minutes a day. |
