Judika Klose Before and After

Judika Klose - My Story

A Journey from - Thin - Fat - Very Fat - Athlete

Age - 34
Weight - 120 lbs
Body Fat - 9-10%
Height - 5 foot 5 inches

Occupation - Stay at home mom which is the best job in the world!

Accomplishments - Mom of 5 amazing kids (Michael 13, Nicholas 11, Brittany 9, Tristan 5, Benjamin 3) and I have a wonderful marriage with my husband Mike.

Facts - I was once 200 lbs and then lost 80lbs after having Ben in April 2003. I am a long distance runner and triathlete. I completed my first half Ironman Triathlon in the summer of 2005 and placed 2nd in age category with a half marathon time of 1:25 (Niagara half-marathon 2006). I ranked in 9th place for the women's age category of 30-34 year olds for Ontario's 2006 Half Marathon. I have placed 1st & 2nd in several half marathons and 6th place in Toronto's Half Marathon which held 2200 women. The body part I am most proud of is my heart. My resting heart rate in the morning is 38 bpm and is usually 42-48bpm throughout the day (other then when I am exercising).

Growing up in a very European household, I was never taught how to eat healthy. I was very active and energetic as a child and teenager, so weight problems were never really an issue for me. When I got married and started my family the weight started creeping up on me. After each of my children I was gaining more and more weight until finally I began realizing that I was losing myself. I looked in the mirror and saw a fat, ugly old housewife and not the dynamic, energetic person that I had once been. I missed ME! I knew that if I did not take charge and find myself again that I could never be a good housewife or mother because I was so desperately unhappy.

I began taking control of my negative feelings and bad habits and began exercising daily. Even when mean people yelled at me "keep running fatty" I never let it get to me. I did lose some weight but it was not until I started reading fitness magazines and watching the TV Show 'The Biggest Loser' that I began to learn how to eat. I realized that I was overeating healthy food! The Biggest Loser helped me understand about calorie burning and BMR. I started writing a daily food journal and began eating 3 times a day. Throughout my whole journey I never let myself believe that I couldn't do it.

I also found Jay Robb's amazing cleansing plan called The Fruit Flush 3-Day Detox. Every time I had trouble keeping up with my diet plan, I would use The Fruit Flush to get back on track and it helps me every time. I have lost a lot of weight using Jay Robb's 3-Day Detox plan and I still use it today to help rejuvenate me!
My health is a gift that I have given myself and my family. This is the only body that I will ever have and I intend to take good care of it. I also teach these principles to my kids. All of them exercise daily and eat a healthy diet. As a family we do a lot of exercises together. What more could a mother ask for? I have fulfilled a dream, lost weight and made my family proud.

Getting healthy and fit has also inspired me to do more with my life and to achieve some of my suppressed goals. I have now become a personal trainer, fitness instructor and nutrition specialist. I eventually want to work with children and teenagers who have weight and self esteem issues. I am passionate about getting our youth to become involved in fitness and to take better care of themselves using their mind, body and spirit. I also want to work with women who have lost themselves after a certain point in their life. There is such a feeling of energy and power when you are healthy and feel good about yourself. Everybody deserves to feel this way!

Many people ask me how I find time to exercise with such a busy household and I always answer with, 'if there is a will, there is a way!' Some of my rules are:

- Exercise is the best stress reliever
- No junk food tastes as good as success does
- Find out what works for you
- You have the power to change your life!!

Sincerely,
Judika Klose
