In my early years, I was always the
skinny guy that could eat whatever he wanted and not
gain an ounce. I lived off of fast food and colas.
When I was 20, I was 6'2" and I weighed 144 pounds.
Skinny was an understatement at that time. No matter
what I did, I couldn't gain weight. At that time, I
was in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and my
unit was activated for Desert Storm. However, we
didn't go to Saudi Arabia or Iraq. We went to
Okinawa, Japan and the active duty Marines who were
stationed there went to Saudi Arabia. So basically
our job was to be regular Marines for an
undetermined amount of time. So I decided that I
would use this time to try to gain weight by
building muscle. The base had a hot sweaty weight
room and I had plenty of time to use it. I read
plenty of articles and books about bodybuilding and
I got myself on a training program that worked great
for me. In seven months, I gained 21 pounds of
muscle.
I came home to the U.S. and for the next ten
years I worked out off and on (more off than on). I
still ate whatever I wanted and I never became over
weight. When I was 31 I weighted about 180. I
started body building again and set a goal to get
over 200 pounds. I was in he gym every night and ate
constantly. I was drinking weight gainer shakes
twice a day and tons of protein. I reached 205 and
very strong but I wasn't happy with my mid-section.
A friend pointed out Jay Robb's Fat Burning Diet
book, I followed the Fat Burning Diet program and
found it was exactly what I needed. It helped me
reach my goal in a reasonable amount of time.
Thank you Jay Robb!
