Fat Burning Chips and Salsa

Close Window

Ingredients
(Choose Organic when possible)
1 medium white onion (peeled and chopped)
1 green mild chili pepper (chopped)
1 small jalapeno pepper (chopped)
2 medium size ripe tomatoes (chopped)
1/2 lime (juiced)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (washed, stems removed)
1 cucumber
2 cups baked corn tortilla chips

Directions
In a bowl, mix the tomatoes, onions, chili pepper, cilantro and lime juice. Add the jalapeno pepper last and only add as much as you personally like. Jalapeno peppers can make the salsa too hot, so go slow!

Note
If it is a carb-loading day, then warm the tortilla chips for 2-3 minutes in a 350 degree oven and dip them in the salsa. If it is a low-carb day for you, peel and thin slice the cucumber and use each slice as your "low-carb" chip to dip in the salsa.
